1204HSL Introduction to Event Management

Teamwork is all about working cohesively together towards an end goal, and for the teamwork to be successful and effective I believe there are certain aspects that are most important. Firstly, open communication is necessary for a smooth and successful teamwork. It is easy for individuals to do work separetly and deal with issues unassisted however this is not effective teamwork. There needs to be open communication between all members to deal with issues together and to create the most suitable solution. With open communication the team needs to make sure everyone's opinion is respected and not disregarded. Another large aspect that makes a team successful is participation from all team members. After delegating roles based on strengths, if team members do not participate and contribute there work then the end goal can not be achieved successfully. Team members can not expect other team members to pick up their lack of doing work otherwise it's not fair and effective teamwork. Each member is essential for different aspects of the team's success. The whole object of creating a team for an event is to reach the end goal and for that to be successful the team needs to have a unified commitment to the goal. Not all team members share the same views and perspectives in different situations but it is crucial that decisions are made together to benefit the goal. A unified commitment to the goal will mean everyone works as a single uni to have a victorious outcome. Conflicts and personal disagreements need to be diverted and the goal needs to be the main focal point. Another aspect that will ensure successful teamwork is to determine each member's strengths and weaknesses. By doing this it uses the team members' abilities to the fullest potential for the benefit of the goal. It is a lot more worthwhile to delegate roles to people who excel in that area or field rather than assigning random roles. its using the skill and abilities that will make the team work together towards the goal. For the success of my group event concept plan I will listen to each team member's opinion fairly and respectfully. I will also make sure to pull my weight so I'm not treating my team with disrespect. Also I will make sure to accept each person's strengths and weaknesses to ensure a fair delegation of tasks. The main point that I will make sure to do is keep the end result the focal point. To not compete with other team members or disregard them and keep on track with completing the task.
